What is a clear coat? Clear coat is simply a layer of clear resin that is applied over colored resin. Almost 95 percent of all vehicles manufactured today have a clear coat finish. Here, we’ll have a cross sectional diagram to explain the different layers.

Contrary to popular belief, car detailing is required periodically, even if a car has been painted with clear coat, in order to keep it in a pristine condition. It is easy to spot the difference between cars that has been detailed regularly against one that isn’t although both have a clear coat finish.

After introducing a layer of car coat on your car, it not only makes it look shinier and more glamorous, it also creates a wetter and deeper color on the car. However, there are other functional advantages that are of greater importance. One major advantage is that this coat provides protection from the sun and ultraviolet ray that causes the car paint to fade. Therefore, your car paint appears new and bright for a longer period of time. In addition, shallow surface defects and spotting caused by acid rain can be buffed out without damaging the paint.

Maintenance of Clear Coat

Clear coat finishes are harder and more resistant to oxidation. However, our auto artisans are very careful not to use abrasive rubbing or polishing compounds on them.

Since the clear coat has no color, it can’t fade or lose brightness, but depending on the environment to which the car is exposed, the clear coat can become dull. This fading occurs slowly and you might not notice any change on a day-to-day basis.

Surface contaminants such as acid rain, rain dust, airborne pollutants, bird droppings, bug splatter and industrial fallout can cause clear coat finishes to look faded. This is because as these contaminants accumulate on the surface of the car, the reflective quality of the finish gets reduced. Which in turn causes the gloss to diminish and the paint to look dull. You can prevent this by removing the fresh contaminants and by washing your car periodically with a premium car wash solution.

You can also eliminate built up contaminants by waxing your car and restore your car’s smooth-as-glass surface. At EA Detailer, we ensure that quality products such as Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer, Glass Polish Professional and our latest product, Sonax CC36 Ceramic Coating are used on the car and your car’s outlook will be looking new.

Car grooming / detailing is necessary and highly recommended to keep your car looking fresh out of the showroom as regular as possible. Such service helps in reducing wear and tear of the external and internal components of your car. Periodic washing and detailing will help keep your car neat, especially during those special occasions.

2 options are generally available for car owners like yourself : DIY or Professional help.

Which option would you go for?

DIY CAR GROOMING

DIY car grooming is you can save money by hands-on yourself. Buying the necessary products and spending X number of hours on your vehicle is the general basis to carry out the process.

Professional services tend to cost more as you get more specialized grooming services ; inclusive of products that are only available for professional detailers purchase and usage.

Keeping your car neat, and properly cleaned up constantly will be a day-to-day job and the most basic practice. Anyone can perform basic exterior and interior cleaning, which is extremely helpful for keeping your car looking sharp at all times. You can even learn some basic detailing techniques while you are at it!

A more involved experience.

This is perhaps the most compelling reason why car enthusiasts stick with DIY grooming. Grooming your car by yourself is a very involving experience, just like performing other maintenance by dipping your hands wet into a basin of water. Nothing is more intimate than doing the work needed for your car with your own hands. It simply enriches the experience of owning a car.

PROFESSIONAL CAR GROOMING

The main selling point for getting professional car grooming / detailing services is to have your vehicle being worked on by specialists. People who work in car detailing companies are trained in washing and detailing cars. They are capable of handling with care, and they can spot, found the cleanliness possibility for both inside and outside of your vehicle.

At car detailing premises, you can see right away an array of tools inside. Examples are high-pressure water nozzles, waxes, carpet cleaners, vacuums, and buff machines etc. These tools help in providing a more extensive grooming for all parts of your vehicle. It would be very impractical to own these tools, unless you own a bunch of cars and you want to maintain them all by yourself. Also, it takes skill and experience to be able to handle and utilise specialized equipment as such.

Time savings on Grooming

This is one of the most valuable perks that you can get for professional grooming services. While you can always do the grooming yourself, it consumes a lot of time. This can be quite impractical if you are working on a tight schedule. In addition, you will more likely than not spend more time completing the task than professional groomers would. Getting professional car grooming is very convenient. The pros will do the work for you while you wait or do other important things.

In conclusion, there is no right or wrong option when it comes to car grooming. You can always learn how to groom the car yourself, getting your hands dirty from time to time like any real car guy would. At the same time, you can always ask the help of professionals if you either have little time in your hands or you want your car to receive some extra TLC.

One common issue we see in our professional detailing service is water stains on the vehicle exterior surface. Improper methods of removing water stains often result in damages to the paintwork of a vehicle such as swirlmarks and scratches.

There are various types of water stained marks. Similar process steps are generally carried out in treating different types of water stain marks; in some cases some special additional steps will be needed to deal with more persistent types of water stains.

Water Stains #1: Caused by Mineral and Dirt Deposits

Mineral and dirt deposits comprise the first category of water stains. These are mostly a result of trace minerals present in rain, sprinkler systems or in the car cleaning water, which remains to your vehicle exterior surface when it is washed but not dried off.

Water Stains #2: Caused by From Corrosive Liquids

This type of water stains refers to etchings or craters that appear in the paint due to some corrosive liquids such as aircon water discharge coming in contact with the car surface, which can detoriation of the car paint and even the lacquer.

To maintain the good finish, use the method described below to remove water stains from your car. While using your hands can take longer, the result is far more pleasing to the eye than what the other mechanical methods can achieve.

Steps For Removing Possible Water Stain Marks

  1. Wash the car thoroughly so mineral deposits on its surface loosen and rinse off.
  2. Make a careful visual inspection of the car surface to ascertain the presence of water spots. If needed, fluorescent bulbs can highlight spots that regular lighting does not reveal.
  3. Use detailing clay to rub the surface of the car. The clay will loosen the contaminants and carry them off. Remember to use fresh sides of the clay at regular intervals. You will need to knead the clay when it becomes dirty to expose fresh clay.
  4. Use of a mineral deposit remover may remove the spots if they are sitting on the surface of the paint. If the water stains have gone into the car’s paint, a simple chemical treatment of such will not remove them.
  5. Machine Polishing or Compounding may be needed to remove the water spots, or to correct the damage caused to the paint by chemical etching. In the worst cases, wet sanding may be required.

Prevent / Minimise Future Water Stain Marks

Applying a ceramic coating to the car’s surface will help to protect and increase your vehicle’s paintwork condition from any future water stains from dirt or biological matter. Ceramic coatings, glass coatings have hydrophobic self cleaning properties, meaning water will not sit on the car exterior surface. If any water stain marks remain, they will be on the coating and not your paint. That’s great news for vehicle owners or car enthusiasts who want that new car shine even after a rain storm.

Have you ever noticed that in many cases the color of a vehicle’s bumpers doesn’t exactly match the colour of the vehicle body? You might have noticed this recently on your own cars after the bumper was painted by a spray paint bodyworks shop as a result of a minor parking lot fender bender. The repainted rear bumper was, clearly a different colour than the rest of the body.

If this colour disparity heightened your awareness of the issue; let us try to find out what causes it and, more importantly, how we can limit the issue all together here at EA Detailer.

If your initial thought was that the body shop performing the repairs on the car either didn’t mix the paint correctly, or chose the wrong color variant. Every vehicle color has a particular code designation. For example, the paint code on this car is NH701M (found on a sticker inside the driver’s side door jamb). An auto body shop would type this code into a computer software and would receive a list of tints and dyes to mix together to re-create the original factory colour. Seems easy enough, right? Well, not always.

Vehicle manufacturers mix large volumes of paint for spraying vehicles on a particular assembly line. Yet what happens if the manufacturer has multiple assembly lines, or if they have to mix a new batch of paint? Variance. That is, even vehicles painted by the factory with the same paint code can have slightly different colours.

Manufacturers periodically publish the formulas for mixing variants using somewhat cryptic descriptors such as, “darker”, “lighter”, “yellower”, “dirtier”, etc. So it is then up to the body shop to determine which colour variant is closest to the original factory colour of the vehicle. But what about an older vehicle on which the original factory paint is slightly faded? Painting the repair area with the original factory colour clearly won’t match the existing paint in this case. So, in the case of variants, or aged paint, it is up to the body shop to determine the best colour to spray. This is done by mixing a batch of paint and spraying a small test card. Once the paint dries on the test card, it is held up next to the vehicle to see if the colour matches. The painter determines if a new variant should be mixed, or if adding different tints will match the existing paint.

So, now let’s say that the body shop has determined the best colour match and they spray the new or repaired bumper cover on my car – but the colour still doesn’t match! Well, then we need to look at the substrate (the surface that we are painting). Most of the vehicle surface is metal whereas the bumper covers, mirror covers, mud guards, etc., are all plastic.

Applying the same paint on plastic and metal can often result in a slightly different colour appearance. This can be due to several factors. First, the plastic dissipates heat more slowly than metal (the paint dries slower), and drying time can be a key factor in paint appearance. As paint dries more slowly, metal flakes in the paint have more time to settle at different angles, and volatile chemicals have more time to evaporate – causing slight variance in the paint colour. Another factor is that plastic can hold more static electricity charge than metal and, if not properly discharged before spraying, can cause metal flakes to align differently than on a metal surface. Substrate differences require different spraying techniques to minimise paint colour variations.

Well, now we have the colour matched and we’ll use different spraying techniques to minimise the difference between the factory paint and the newly sprayed paint – the colour must surely match now! Not necessarily. Most modern factories use electrostatic spray equipment to paint the metal surfaces of an automobile. While they use conventional spray equipment to paint the plastic surfaces. So, even vehicles coming off of the factory line can have slight variations in colour due to the differences in spray equipment.

And even accounting for all of these differences, colours can still seem slightly different simply due to the way light reflects and refracts off of curved surfaces (like a bumper) versus the relatively flat surfaces of the doors and hood.At EA Detailer we’ve learned to take all of these factors into account when polishing a repaired surface.

First, we take the time to properly access the repaired surface which is repainted. Next, we research, formulate, and customised the best car polish system to apply. We then do a test polish to find the best results.

Finally, we alter our techniques to account for environmental conditions (such as humidity and air temperature), All of this to ensure that the final glow is being accentuated and brought to life.

We believe that if we take a few extra minutes to properly access and prepare a surface, and take the time to really find the exact polishing technique, we save your time and money in the long run by not having to preserving the repainted surface.

Paint Protection Coating = No More Car Washes?

After Paint Protection Coating, regular car washes are still recommended. As Car owners of your own car, the moment if there is any bird poo or tree sap that lands on your Car Exterior, it is highly recommended to remove through the following steps:

  1. Put 4-5 pieces of tissue over the spot of bird poo or tree saps
  2. Pour water over the tissues spots
  3. Set and wait for 5 to 10mins so that the bird poo or tree saps will soften
  4. Wipe off with baby wipes, otherwise, tissue (note: tissue has still certain level of abrasiveness, which may cause fine line scratch on the paintwork)

So just regular car wash and be more conscious in removing bird poo or tree saps off my car sufficient to maintain my car?

Not exactly true. It is also still recommended to send back to your Car Detailer for maintenance sessions due to Singapore weather and rain deterioration to the protective coating layer.

What happens after your car is being protected with Paint Protection Coating?

Over a period of time, there will be dirt and dust particles will accumulate and settle onto the exterior paintwork which may gradually affect the Coating key properties.

For some car owners, they are constantly conscious about the Coating condition, it will be good to send in for a check at least once every 3 to 6 months under the Coating Conservation Program service.

Other than dirt and dust particles accumulating and stacking on the exterior paintwork, there is also possibility of bird poos, tree sap, scratches and swirl marks accumulating too.

What can be done will be when car owners send in for a 3-Stage Exterior Glow maintenance service, within the service, there will be a machine polish paint correction process to treat on the bird poo stains, tree saps, scratches and watermarks that accumulated on the exterior paintwork; after which due to weather and that we work on the coating layer, the coating layer gets thinner, we will top up coating from there again to seal back again.

To retain your vehicle at showroom condition, 3-Stage Exterior Glow is recommended to be done at least once every 8 to 12 months.

Depending on individual car owners, there is different requirements and concerns as the main driver, which base on the following few factors:

  1. where your car is usually parked
  2. where your car usually goes to
  3. how do you wish to maintain your vehicle

Year-end. Holidays are coming. It is time to clean up your bedrooms, houses and cars. But when it comes to car detailing, it is known that people are less attentive at times to the details. It is common and known that one of the most basic mistakes that people make is to casually wipe a hand or towel across the dry car. If you want to remove the contaminants properly, water and cloths are not enough to get the job done.

Instead of experimenting with your beloved car, why not opt for professional services?

Some common mistakes

Despite whichever part of our little island you are in, finding a legitimate auto-detailing service provider is of no inconvenience. However, sponges are used and cars mostly suffer when a sponge is used incorrectly to wash cars. A microfiber towel is also not at all gentle with paint. Although detailing is necessary for your vehicle, you should know the proper way of carrying it out. No matter if you are doing it or choosing a service provider, being educated on what is the correct way to detail your car will surely prove helpful at some point of time.

Know the proper cleaning order

Wheels, Body, Interior, Glass –that is the order. Wheels, in fact, demand most of the attention in this process. The nooks and crannies of the rims are hard to reach, and if unattended, the dirt might just embed itself onto the rims.

Car Body Paintwork

The paint is not at all simple. A method of cleaning is from the top down. All the contaminants are usually stuck at the bottom of the car, so in that manner, there won’t be any dirt or sand that will be trapped in the clay bar and it will not scratch the pristine part of the car paint. For our car care, EA Detailer uses quality products from Sonax such as the High Gloss Shampoo, Rim Cleaner+ Acid Free and the Brilliant Shine Detailer to name a few.

Interior Detailing Services

Here the following parts are covered:

  1. Bio Fumigating to rid the car of pest
  2. Vacuuming the carpets and interior of the car
  3. Cleaning the dashboard, sanitizing the car with Magna Viral-Rid
  4. Taking care of the leather, plastic or vinyl parts
  5. Being extremely careful while cleaning
  6. Ozonic Treatment to the car for fresh and crisp air.
  7. Steam Cleaning the upholstery for dust mites termination and using a “Tornado Gun” to remove dirt, dust and clean up to 80% of stains.

The windscreen, glasses and mirrors should be cleaned last, as they are easy to reach. Furthermore, smudges might be left behind if you clean them before taking care of the interior.

In EA Detailer, we provide not only a service for your car care, but also a tailored service to the owners.

Trying to trade in your car for a brand-new model? There are 2 main things that one must consider, the price of the car that you’re planning to purchase, and making sure that the car you’re selling is in pristine condition to attract prospective buyers.

As Singapore’s best auto detailer, EA Detailer has some tips & tricks from our resident experts on how to keep your car in optimal condition to increase the vehicle’s resale value.

1. Do a Thorough Cleaning of your Car Interior Cabin

Take a plastic bag and place every personal belonging from your car’s interior into it. Inspect all spaces and crevices, especially beneath the rugs, in between your door shuts, under the seats, in your cup holders. A stiff brush will come in handy for removing dirt from smaller nooks and crannies. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even make use of a portable vacuum cleaner to remove build up from your vehicle’s seat and floor.

2. Wash all Car Interior Upholstery

Now that you have removed most visible dirt particles. What’s next? If you want to be as pedantic as our specialists in EA Detailer, carry out a steam bath. This will remove hard to remove stains and grease marks on seats and give the impression that the car is newer.

3. Make all the Windows / Glass Shine

Apply a non-streaking glass cleaner to ensure that your car’s windows are free from dirt and stains. EA Detailer also strongly recommends you to clean the interior of the car windows, which is a spot that is usually riddled with hand prints and grime. We strongly recommend using a microfiber cloth and Sonax’s glass polish professional for this.

4. Get rid of any Odours in the Car Cabin

Vehicles that smell fresh and clean are likely to attract more buyers. To get the ball rolling, we recommend using an air freshener or anti-bacterial spray to get rid of any unpleasant smells. If the problem still persists, EA Detailer recommends going for a one time interior session which consists of an anti-bacterial wipe down and utilizing an ozone generator to eradicate any mold/fungi that are in inaccessible areas such as your air condition vents.

5. Wash and Wax your Vehicle

EA Detailer recommends going for a professional hand wash that utilizes a non-abrasive sponge instead of a machine car wash. In addition to using a good quality car shampoo, we also recommend waxing your car after you’re done washing it. This will make the car look shiny and also prevent dirt from accumulating on the surface.

Cleaning your car entails taking care of both the exterior and interior of your vehicle.

This will certainly enhance its resale value and if you desire to experience the best car detailing experience possible, do make a booking with us.

Ceramic coating, glass coating advertised throughout the internet; invading your visual domains. Each claiming theirs to be the best choice. But do you understand the full effect of it?

Car paint, like human skin, is porous. Environmental influences and acid rain infiltration will lead to rust, water marks and corrosion. With the increment in purchase price of their rides, drivers placed a higher demand on their aesthetics too.

The Past life of Paint Protection Coating

Early in the days, mineral wax was the hype of the car beauty industry and which later went into glazing, in fact, glaze still belong to the wax family, but it is in purer form than the natural mineral wax, more adhesion, better hydrophobic quality.

Later, the car care manufacturers found out that the Japanese Shinkansen N700 travelling on the high-speed rail at 300 km look like new, and surface unscathed.

After research, they realised that the coating on N700 can reduce air friction and lower down the occurrence of static electricity, they also learned that the main ingredient is polyurethane.

Researchers found that Polyurethane create a hydronic bond and absorb the external energy and reformation of the hydrogen structure. The polyurethane layer provides a high degree of mechanical wear resistance and flexibility, which create a highly elastic polymer chain.

It is this discovery that rewrites the history of car beauty.

What exactly is Paint Protection Coating?

In 2004, SONAX first proposed the terms – “Paint Protection”.

Paint Protection is composed of a compact structure, stable performance of the polymer molecules, forming a smooth, transparent and durable hard protective layer, which can isolate the air and the car paint surface.

Like a layer of stealth armour for the paint, it provides a reliable paint sealing technology, it is efficient and durable; this protective layer prevents the environment impact affecting the paint.

The protective layer form a layer of a strong polymer network, filling the pores on the car paint. Filling up the porous nature of the painted surface will deliver a flat surface and achieving mirror effect.

Many car groomers in order to increase their sales spread inaccurate views and remarks, resulting many owners wasting a lot of time and costs. Not only did it not achieved their desired results, the vehicle also suffered unnecessary damages.

Let EA Detailer de-myth the wrong understandings about paint protection coating.

Anti-scratch ≠ Car will never be scratched again

While it is true that paint protection coating does indeed enhance the hardness of the paint, it does not mean it is unbreakable. Some manufacturers advocate their product as an “once and for all” solution which is scientifically totally irresponsible.

After coating ≠ No longer need regular care car

Perhaps your car paint has been coated but the lack of attention to the regular maintenance care will shorten the life span.

It is recommended that short maintenance sessions should be conducted once every 3-6 months; this is to remove the layer of oxide resting on the paint surface. These sessions will maintain the brightness and glossiness of the paint.

After plating ≠ no car wash or car wash

This is one of the most hyped myth – once your vehicle is coated, you never have to wash your car again. The effects of environmental factors, acid rain and other oxide substances if allowed a long stay on the paint will reduce the effect of coating.

Does a New Car Need to be Coated?

YES.

You will need to groom your vehicle properly for the first time in order to remove the original wax that comes with the vehicle which after that you will want to top the layer with a PPS and it can reduce the damage to the original car paint.

Does an Old Car Still Need Paint Protection?

For vehicles, more than 3 months old, it must be paint corrected prior coating. This is to remove the oxide layer and paint flaws, the coating can then be better combined with the paint, which played a better protection effect.

Why Should You Protect the Original Car Paint?

The original paint coat is conducted in the absence of any contamination; the formation of high temperature baking offers strong resistance to corrosion and is extremely durable. The moment you send your vehicle to re-spray; the facilities offered by a 3rd party vendor won’t have the standards of the factory outfit. This will generally cause a degrade in the quality delivered. Hence, protection to the original coat is of pinnacle importance.

The advantages of Ceramic Coating

Ceramic Coating is a formation of an extremely fine Nano-particles hydronic bonded to the original car paint, in comparison to conventional waxes and glaze – it greatly extends the protection to the original paintwork.

Ceramic Coating also improved the depth of the paint, enhancing the hardness and toughness of the paint to prevent scratches and improve hydrophobicity.

Taking into account the trinity of any PPS – “flexibility”, “toughness”, and “brightness”, our Ceramic Coating offers not only strong but a flexible network of ceramic-structured polymer coating.

The perfect shine is the Holy Grail of the automotive appearance industry.

For over a century, professionals have sought a magical solution ― a bullish, long-lasting shine product that is quick and easy to apply and will repel dirt, environmental contaminants, and rain so the vehicle has the best protection on the market.

Given the array of kaleidoscope of products invading our visual sense, what is the difference between finishing products? How far have we come in the world of “coatings”?

Essentially, nano-technology in the detailing industry utilizes a 9th century Mesopotamian trick. A trick in which pottery-makers created a metallic nano glaze made from copper, silver salts, and oxides that created a glittering effect on pottery that up through the Renaissance, made it distinctive for its ancient, shimmering luster. The term “coating” is nothing more than a new term to identify these incredibly durable polymers. Because that’s all these nano coatings are, polymers.

Known as “Surface Science”, products now allow the transfer of particles from one surface to the other so that the nano coating becomes inseparable from the car’s paint surface. Automotive coating manufacturers claim their formulas “bond” chemically and physically to the paint surface, however, all bond loosens over time!

Is hardness the only pinnacle of a good coating?

Every Automotive coating manufacturers has been boasting their SGS Certification on hardness. But think about it – the body of the car flexes as it drives, as the heat and cold play their part on the chemistry of the metal (hot metal can bend more while cold metal is more stiff). When coated with glass and ceramics, two very rigid materials that lack the ability to be flexible, it wouldn’t take long for the coating to crack and break.

And does the warranty works?

Those 7-year warranty coatings are only valid if you can verify you’ve reapplied the product every year or two and washed the car once a month. One of the big reasons these products work so effectively is the amount of prep required to apply the coating. After washing, claying, and buffing the car, you’re often required to wipe down the entire surface with some alcohol based cleaner. This intensive prep period is highly effective in removing all contaminants and oils from the surface to allow the coating to bond to the paint as best as it can.

What is the downside?

Before you can even apply the coating, the surface must be 100% free of surface blemishes, which applies to even brand new vehicles. A multi-stage paint correction involves washing the car, claying, buffing, and keeping it pristine while applying the coating. That last step is particularly difficult for anyone who isn’t working in a clean indoor facility.

Nearly all of these coatings use extremely harsh chemicals that when you open the bottle, smell like a nice sampling of jet fuel. After speaking with many detailers who specialize in applying many of these coatings, they mention how they need to take frequent breaks to refrain from going light-headed. These harsh chemicals contain high levels of VOC’s.

Our Ceramic coating does not only form in a structured atomic manner; it is also flexible. It offers the gloss that will make your car gleamed while flexible enough to bounce off the contaminants and allows your vehicle to flex. Most importantly, we care for our Auto-Artisans. Ceramic Coating is the only coating in the local market that is VOCs-Free; it does not pose any health hazard at all.

As the leading Auto Detailer in Singapore, EA Detailer started an exclusive partnership with Sonax to offer the world’s most powerful ceramic coating. Top 5 reasons why Ceramic Paint Protection Coating is a must have for the discerning automobile enthusiasts who want their cars feeling like it never left the showroom .

5 Benefits of Ceramic paint coating for cars

1. Best Car Paint Protection

Our ceramic coating provides a resilient, flexible protective surface to the car’s body, shielding against all forms of foreign matter which might compromise the integrity of the paintwork. On the daily commute, a car will be subjected to attacks to its body, from debris, UV damage and foreign contaminants. Having a ceramic coating ensures that the paintwork of the car is sealed in a protective layer that prolong the longevity of the car’s paintwork.

2. Durability of Ceramic Coating

With our state of the art equipment and superior technique, we ensure that the coating will be bonded tightly to the car and will not be affected by most external forces. This is in sharp contrast to more traditional vehicle coatings such as wax, which wears off when exposed to environmental elements and foreign contaminants

3. Hydrophobic Effect and Resistance to Dirt

No one car is perfectly smooth, polishing and applying a coat to any one car is a science. The more uneven or perforated a surface is, the easier it is for dirt to find pockets and pits to cling on to. After polishing and claying of the surface, we apply a layer of ceramic coating which works at a molecular level to ensure that that dirt that stick to the surface of the car can be easily removed. Most surface contaminants and dirt will skid off, leaving the car in showroom condition for longer periods of time.

4. Elimination of Constant Re-application

Unlike traditional methods of getting your car “coated”, a single application of Ceramic coating and proper care and maintaining, Ceramic Coating will withstand a long duration of time and EA Detailer is proud to claim that our ceramic coating has a 10-year warranty that it will not spoil your paintwork
